La Romana beach is world famous
A La Romana Dominican Republic beach has wonderful sunsets, sand, rocks and water, sea winds, beach volleyball, music and the occasional boardwalk loaded with amusements.
If you're interested in seclusion, however, keep in mind that many of the more crowded La Romana Dominican Republic beaches are popular for good reason. If you're looking for an active, social atmosphere with plenty of convenient services, try one La Romana Dominican Republic beach that is larger.
For those interested in pursuing specific activities learning more about the character of each beach can prove invaluable and our partner sites can provide you with useful information on each La Romana Dominican Republic beach. |

La Romana beach - where dreams become true vacations
The nearby exquisite beaches at Bayahibe and Dominicus are both home to splendid hotels from which you can easily travel to the offshore wildlife preserves of Catalina and Saona, virgin islets embraced by the spacious National Park of the East. Access to the islands is possible by speed boat, catamaran or sailing ship. This park is also the focus of international archaeological interest and media attention as scientists and anthropologists continue to unearth traces of the Taino civilisation. Likewise, boat tours leave daily to the crystal clear shallow water paradise of Palmilla near Saona Island, east of Bayahibe. La Minitas - This is Casa de Campo's main beach. It is a small but excellent beach and lagoon, just 10 minutes from the centre of town. There are a wide range of bars and restaurants found at the beachfront. The beautiful white sand and warm waters make this one of the most popular beaches of the Republic, and is great for the whole family. Catalina - This beautiful beach is located on a deserted island, which is surrounded by deep blue waters. It's only a 45 minute boat trip away from La Romana and is well worth the trip out. The soft white sand is perfect for relaxation while catching a tan. It can get a little crowded during peak tourist seasons. Catalina Island is located off the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic opposite the port and resort town of La Romana. Beaches and watersports are the main features of the island itself. Take the 45 minute ferry ride to La Romana on the mainland. This quiet beach, Bayahibe, in La Romana is ringed with palm trees. Activities at Casa Del Mar run the gamut, from stretch classes on the beach, to water aerobics, to horseback riding, to just lolling around reading a good book. Then there are always treats to be had at the Spa! Maybe a Spanish lesson, watching a Carnival Parade, Managers Party by the pool, or dinner on the beach. It is all there for the taking at Casa Del Mar.
